Boys' triumph

NET RESULT: James West caught 39 fish in four hours to win the under 11s category in a competition organised by police to keep youths busy during the summer holidays. It was only the second time that James, 10, had fished - the first being in the previous week's heat at Tatton Park when he caught nothing. Police support officer Grace Barker said last week that James, of Longridge, had won through to the final because of his excellent behaviour. The idea was to get the police, fire service and parents together to have a good time and we really achieved something,' she said   more...
